Family Unification Program (FUP)The Family Unification Program (FUP) is intended for families that have children in placement with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and who have substantially complied with all DSS service plan tasks but do not have permanent or adequate housing to which their children can be returned . Also, battered women and their children who have been displaced because of the battering situation and have not secured permanent, standard replacement housing. Families that are accepted into the program receive a Housing Choice Voucher to enable them to secure affordable housing. Applicants must have an open DSS case at the time of referral/application, at the time of selection and at the time a subsidy is issued. The family must be otherwise eligible for the HCVP.
