Moderate Rehabilitation Program

The Section 8 Moderate Rehab Program is considered a project-based program. In this program a subsidy is attached to the specific unit for a period of 15 years. During this time the landlord agrees to rent to applicants from SSHDC’s waiting list. The landlord still maintains all rights and responsibilities of a landlord, including tenant selection. Applicants must also meet eligibility requirements as outline for the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Units are currently located in Fall River, Plymouth and Middleboro. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is no longer funding new units under this program, unless they are Single Room Occupancy units.
